Professor Jillian Kril

Professor Jillian Kril, Emeritus Professor, University of Sydney.

Jillian is an academic neuropathologist with over 25 years experience in research, teaching and clinical service. She is an internationally recognised contributor in the areas of the neuropathology of ageing, neurodegeneration, alcohol related brain damage (ARBD) and brain biobanking. After completing a PhD at the University of Sydney and postdoctoral research at Neuroscience Research Unit, Hôpital St-Luc, Montréal, Canada. Jillian was awarded a Medical Foundation Fellowship to investigate the clinicopathological correlates of Alzheimer’s disease at Concord Hospital’s Centre for Education and Research on Ageing. In 2001 Jillian was appointed Senior Lecturer (Geriatric Medicine) at the University of Sydney and appointed Professor in 2009. She has held a number of senior administrative roles including Chair of PhD Award Subcommittee of Academic Board, Associate Dean (Research Training) and Associate Dean Research). She retired from her teaching and administration role in 2021 but continues to research FTD and related disorders.
